About the RYS Football Program

RYS sponsors full tackle football for youth from age 6 to 14 year olds in 8th grade.  High School students are not eligible.  There are over 2,000 player / coach participants in this program, one of the largest in southeastern Wisconsin.  Midget through Pee Wee play 9 man football.  Pee Wee plays on 80 by 40 yard fields and Midget (our instructional league) plays 9 man football on a reduced full field.  Average team sizes for those leagues are 15 players.  5 other leagues; Bantam, Rookie, Minor, Junior, & Senior leagues will all begin playing play 11 man football in 2008.  RYS has a 100% playing time rule.  This means that a player has a starting spot on either offense or defense and plays the entire game.  Please report any violations to this rule.  RYS utilizes seven fields at Haban Park, four fields at Lockwood Park.  Other possible game playing sites are in Muskego/Wind Lake, Union Grove, Burlington and Waterford as there are a few games scheduled away from Haban Park or Lockwood as we have RYS teams participating from the entire Racine County area all utilizing the same RYS registration and draft procedures.
