Thanks to everyone for a good season. The season for both the Minor and Junior Girls Volleyball Leagues ended on 5/10 & 5/11 repsectively.
Coaches please return your practice balls and pick-up your "Thank You" team picture placque.

We encourage coaches, parents, and players to go to www.racineyouthsports.com home page and then visit this Volleyball page on the left side.
Coaches can view team schedules, standings, report scores, and view rosters on-line via Sports Manager software. Parents/Guardians use SportManager to view schedules & standings, etc. by coming to this site then clicking the link just below or by clicking on the Standings and Schedules link on the home page.

Would you like to Sponsor a Volleyball team? Click Here for details and form. We also encourage all coaches and parents to solicit sponsors. Team sponsorships help keep the program costs down. Sponsors receive a team picture remembrance plaque for $100 and for $150 their logo or tag line would also goes on the team jerseys. Great reasonably priced advertising that supports the youth sport programs.
Reminder: Players who did not play in 2009 or are new to RYS need to provide proof of age (Birth Cert., etc.) to complete their registration. You can fax (886-8970), mail (see address above), or Email copy of proof of age prior to play. Don't put your team in jeopardy.

Just RYS Volleyball Information:
The net height should be at 7' 41/4" for Girls Minor and Junior League Volleyball. The National Federation of State High Schools is also 7' 41/4". In the Minor League only, serving players can move up 5 feet from the end (back) line to serve.

All RYS Volleyball players in 2010 that are new or did not play in 2009 need to provide a birth certificate copy or proof of age for view.
Volleyball for RYS in 2010 will again be 2 Girls age groups; 10 & 11 year olds and 12 & 13 year olds with 14 year olds that are not in High School. In 2009 Minors played Monday evenings and Juniors Tuesday evenings. At present we plan to continue that schedule depending upon registrations and gymnasium availability. All ages for league eligibility will be based on Sept 1st, 2009 for the upcoming 2010 season. Again, matches are played in the evening during the week at locations we can utilize.

RYS has implemented "Zero Tolerance" registration across all sports programs offered meaning you must have all requirements for registration (Full Payment, Birth Certificate & Evaluation (no evaluation required in volleyball) fully completed or you are not considered to be registered. We will be doing the same for the 2010 season. There will be no exceptions.

Top 10 Things YOUR Kids Say They Don't Want:
1. Don't yell out instructions. 2. Don't put down the officials.
3. Don't yell at me in public. 4. Don't yell at the coach.
5. Don't put down my teammates. 6. Don't put down the other team.
7. Don't lose your cool. 8. Don't lecture me about mistakes after the game.
9. Don't forget to laugh and have fun. 10. Don't forget that it's just a game!

RYS will again operate two Girls Volleyball leagues (Minor ages 10 & 11) and Junior ages 12 & 13 (14 if not in HS). Players need to be 10 yrs. old by September 1, 2009.
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
Players must have registered by February 5, 2010. There were three (3) convenient ways to register for Girls Volleyball:
#1 - Convenient On-Line registration - Save gas and time - Click Here and follow the instructions. Remember, you must fax (262) 886-8970 or mail-in to RYS P.O. Box 044601 Racine, WI. 53404 your birth certificate or proof of age to complete the registration process.
#2 - Mail-In registration - print off the 2 page registration form - Click Here (Page 1) / Click Here (Page 2) Print out both pages. Mail to RYS at P.O. Box 044601 Racine, WI. 53404 along with proof of age by February 5, 2010.
#3 - There were three (3) in-person Walk-In registrations that have been completed.
The fee is $50 per player. Scholarship (Financial Aid) is/was available for qualified individuals. Application forms will be available at the in-person Walk-In registrations.
