Parent/Guardian Agreement & Program Requirements

By registering my cheerleader, I acknowledge and agree to the following program standards, expectations & rules:

Attendance Expectations & Participation Eligibility
Cheerleaders are required to attend all scheduled practices in order to perform at the following Saturday’s game. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be communicated directly to the coach. A no-call/no-show to practice will result in automatic removal from that Saturday’s halftime routine. In addition, a cheerleader with a no-call/no-show to practice will not be allowed to stunt on the sideline at that week’s game. Late arrivals on game day may result in the cheerleader being removed or repositioned in the halftime performance at the coach’s discretion.

Practices will be held twice per week during the summer, tentatively scheduled for Monday and Thursday evenings at Smolenski Park. Practice is expected to begin near the end of July/first week of August at the latest. Once RUSD begins the school year, practices will move to one day per week on Thursdays, with games held on Saturdays. Game times are determined by the SEFYA schedule, which is typically released at the end of August, just before Labor Day.

Practice Attire
Cheerleaders must be dressed appropriately for practice, with athletic wear and stretchy clothes. Cheer shoes are required at every practice. No denim allowed. Sandals, crocs, etc. are not acceptable. Hair must be pulled back. No jewelry. No crop-tops. Cheerleaders must bring poms to each practice. Cheerleaders must also bring their own water.

Rental Uniform Agreement & Requirement
Uniform skirts and shells remain the property of the program. A $125 post-dated check or labeled envelope with cash is required at the first practice during the parent meeting. The post-dated check will be cashed (or cash deposited) if uniforms are damaged or not returned at the completion of the season. Families may purchase the uniform for an additional $100 (check to Racine Youth Sports or $100 cash at first practice/parent meeting). 

Renting? $200 Registration + $125 postdated check to Racine Youth Sports (or cash in a labeled envelope) that may be returned upon uniform inspection & turn-in.

Purchasing? $200 Registration + $100 check to Racine Youth Sports (or cash in a labeled envelope) due by the first practice date, at the parent meeting.

Game Day & Game Day Uniform Requirement
Cheerleaders should expect to cheer every Saturday from September through October. Cheerleaders will be expected to arrive an hour before the game begins. Game times are determined by the SEFYA schedule, which is typically released at the end of August, just before Labor Day. Teams are expected to cheer through the Super Bowl, provided the game is within a one-hour driving distance and weather conditions are safe. Cheerleaders will not cheer in rainy conditions, even if the football game is not canceled. Cheer will be limited to home games only with the exception of the play-offs/Super Bowl.

Cheerleaders must be in full uniform to participate on game day, including white cheer shoes. No substitutions (Crocs, boots, gym shoes, t-shirts, or shorts) are permitted. Cold-weather guidelines will be shared as the season progresses.

Fundraising
I understand that while not mandated, fundraising is highly encouraged, with a suggested goal of $75 per cheerleader. RYS Cheer will provide fundraising details and opportunities.

* Only as applicable * I understand that 1st/2nd Grade and 3rd/4th Grade teams require two volunteer coaches per team. If sufficient volunteer coaches are not secured, teams at these grade levels may not be able to move forward.

Program Cost
The total cost is $200, which includes:

• $100 registration fee

• $100 toward uniforms

Bows and poms are included and do not need to be returned. Families are responsible financially for cheer shoes. Cheer shoes must be purchased separately and must be all white cheer shoes (brand logos are acceptable). Cheer shoes are widely available on Amazon.

Uniform Rental vs. Ownership
Uniform skirts and shells are the property of the program. All cheerleaders are assumed to be renting their uniform unless it is purchased at $100, in addition to the cost of registration.
