RYS is hosting a Home Run Derby to end the season! Bring the kids out to test their power hitting abilities! The winner of each group will receive a trophy.
The Home Run Derby is open to all kids of the listed age groups.
Time and Place
- Saturday, August 22nd
- Haban Park, on field 12
- $15 registration
Age Groups
- 9:30 AM - Ages 9 and 10
- 11:30 AM - Ages 11 and 12
- 1:30 PM - Ages 13 and 14
Format
- There will be a maximum of 12 players per age group.
- In the first round, everyone will have one minute to hit as many home runs as they can.
- The second round will be tournament style, using the top four players from the first round.
- Depending on the amount of participants, we may adjust the second round to include more players.
Rules
- Each batter will need to provide their own pitcher. That can be a parent, coach, friend, or anyone else.
- To count as a home run, the ball must land on or past the line, on the fly. It must also be in fair territory.
- All balls must land before the next pitch can be given.
- To make the home run derby as efficient as possible, all participants must be in the field, to help collect balls after every batter.
